It was supposed to get easier at home. Instead home became the hardest room.
You started praying properly, or came back to it, and the people who raised you did not know what to do with that. Maybe they are Muslim on paper and your five prayers a day read to them as judgment. Maybe they are not Muslim at all. Maybe it is a comment at dinner, or the TV turned up during Maghrib, or just the look. You pray in your bedroom with the door closed and feel like you are hiding something in the house that is supposed to be yours.
And the guilt cuts both ways. Guilt toward Allah when you skip a prayer to avoid a scene. Guilt toward them when you do not.
The Quran addresses you by name
In Surah Luqman, right after the command to honour parents, Allah adds a condition. If they pressure you to associate with Him what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them. And then, in the same breath, still keep their company in this world courteously. (31:15)
Both halves. Do not follow them out of the religion, and do not stop being their child. The verse refuses the choice you keep feeling forced into. It does not say pick Allah and cut them off. It does not say keep the peace and let the prayers slide. It says hold the line on the deen and hold their hands while you do it.
That is a harder instruction than either extreme. It is also the only one that lets you keep both.
The woman who prayed inside Pharaoh's house
Allah gives believers an example, and He picks the hardest household in the Quran to pick it from. The wife of Pharaoh. She prayed, from inside that palace, for a house in Paradise near Him, and to be delivered from Pharaoh and what he did. (66:11)
She did not get a different family. She got a different address in the Hereafter. Her faith was not diminished by the roof she lived under, and Allah chose her, out of everyone, as the example to set in front of believers who come after. If her prayer counted from inside that house, yours counts from inside yours.
What this looks like on a Tuesday
Pray on time, and pray quietly. Not secretly, quietly. There is a difference. Secret means you are ashamed. Quiet means you are not making it a performance. If Maghrib falls during dinner, you excuse yourself for four minutes the way you would for a phone call, and you come back and finish eating with them.
Do not preach. Not one word. Everything you are tempted to say about their religion, or their lack of it, say to Allah in sujood instead. The verse asked for courtesy, and a child who has become kinder since he started praying is the only dawah that has ever worked inside a family.
And when it gets heavy, remember whose house Asiya was in. Then go pray.
May Allah soften the hearts in our homes, and give us patience with the ones He put us with, in shā' Allāh.
